About Workforce Plus

We believe everyone deserves the
opportunity to thrive

Who we are

Workforce Plus Inc is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating meaningful pathways to employment, training and independence for people across Gippsland, Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs, the Mornington Peninsula and beyond.

Our passionate teamwork with jobseekers, young people, people with disability and local employers, conneting the right support to the right person at the right time. And as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and registered NDIS provider, our team draws on deep local connections, offering a broad range of services to support people wherever they're starting from.

We are not a ‘tick-box’ service. We take the time to understand where you are starting from, what is getting in the way, and what you are working toward. Then we build the pathway around them.

Workforce Plus was founded on the enduring principles of social justice by the late Bernadette O’Connor (1958–2025).

Bernadette witnessed firsthand the profound impact of regional unemployment on individuals, families and communities and she dedicated her life to building an organisation that would restore dignity, build self-reliance and open doors to meaningful employment for those who needed it most.

Her vision was clear and compassionate: to ensure that no one is left behind. That vision shapes everything we do today.

From those foundations, Workforce Plus has grown into a multi-site organisation supporting thousands of people across Victoria and the Northern Territory. We have expanded our services, deepened our employer relationships, and developed specialised expertise in disability employment, vocational training and community-based workforce programs.

Bernadette’s legacy lives on not only in the work of Workforce Plus, but in the O’Connor Fund, established in her memory to provide scholarships and grants for young regional women that continue her commitment to education, opportunity and community.
